Key Features of the Streamlined Race Day Pay-Up Scheme

Centralised Prizemoney

  • Queensland Racing is to pay nomination and acceptance fees to clubs and riding fees to jockeys in accordance with current arrangements
  • Trainers are no longer invoiced for nomination and acceptance fee, riding fees or Workcover fees
  • A "Starters Fee" of $225 + GST is charged to the owners of horses that finish 1st to 4th at metropolitan meetings. This is to be netted-off against prizemoney.
  • A "Starters Fee" of $173 + GST is charged to the owners of horses that finish 1st to 4th at all other TAB meetings, and 1st to 3rd at all Non-TAB meetings. This is to be netted of against prizemoney.
  • A Starters Fee is charged to the trainers of horses that finish 4th and back. The Starters Fee is charged according to the location of the meeting. Please refer to the Table of Fees and Subsidies and the Rebate Table
  • A "Non-Starters Fee" of $40 + GST is charged to the trainers of horses that are nominated, but do not accept  or are scratched. The "Non-Starters Fee" for Feature Races is $56 + GST.
  • A RD Scratching Fee, of $117 (+ GST if applicable), will be charged to trainers, as agents of owners, of horses that are scratched after a rider has been declared, where the riders' fee is payable
  • A NRD Scratching Fee of $50 + GST will be charged to trainers, as agents of owners, of horses that are scratched where no rider has been declared and a vet's certificate is not supplied. This fee will also apply if a horse is scratched with a rider declared, but the rider obtains another ride and no vet's certificate is supplied.
  • A "Starters Fee" of $37.50 + GST is invoiced to the trainers of horses that start in official barrier trials
  • A "Scratching Fee" of $10 + GST is invoiced to the trainers of horses that nominate but do not start in official barrier trials.
  • Queensland Racing pays race clubs the standard official barrier trial nomination fee of $10 + GST.
  • Queensland Racing pays the $27.50 (+ GST if applicable) riding fee for standard official barrier trials
  • Masters, apprentice percentages are automatically deducted from apprentices and paid to masters
  • The weekly payment cycle is from Monday - Sunday.
  • A "Feature Race Acceptance Fee" is charged to trainers of all horses that accept for races where the combined nomination/acceptance fee charged by clubs exceeds $225
  • For specific feature races where multiple levels of nominations and/or acceptances are charged, race clubs will invoice the fees directly to owners.
  • GST is added to prizemoney payments where GST details have been provided by owners, trainers and jockeys.
