The streamlined
race day pay-up scheme, which was approved by the Queensland
Racing Committee in 2000, essentially
involves simplifying the transactions associated with
nominating
and starting
a horse in this State. It was introduced on 1 July 2001
in conjunction with the development of Queensland Racing's
centralised prizemoney payment system. It means that
trainers and
owners are no longer invoiced for nomination
and acceptance fees, riding fees and jockey Workcover
fees.
A standard starters
fee of $225 + GST fro metropolitan racing and $173 +
GSt for all other levels of racing will be charged to
the owners of starters placing 1st to 4th at TAB events
or 1st to 3rd at Non TAB, respectively. The trainers
of horses that do not feature in the first three placings
at Non-TAB events will be charged a starters fee that
is dependent on the location of the club.
Significantly,
there are no charges levied on the owners and trainers
of horses placed 5th or below at TAB events.
Refer to the
table of Fees
and Subsidies and the Rebate table.
