Apprentice jockey Michael Palmer has ridden his first metropolitan meeting treble at City Pacific Doomben on Saturday, February 9.
The three kilogram-claiming apprentice had success in the fourth, sixth and a $50,000 race in the seventh.
His first win of the day came on the longest priced of the field, Sneaky Long in the ECMS & Premier Fire C,G&E Class 6 Handicap 1350m.
In the sixth, he raced home first on the Shaun Dwyer-trained Sweet As in the Pyramid Fillies & Mares Class 6 Handicap 1350m.
Palmer was a front runner all the way in these two races.
Lastly, Palmer completed his treble in the John Holland Handicap 1200m on Daunting Lad in an exciting finish by a nose.
Palmer was also in the money placings in all but two races claiming third in the fifth with Guerrouj and fourth in the first and eighth.
Metropolitan success has been common for Palmer recently, riding a double the weekend before as well as on January 12 where he took home a Listed win on Omnitrader.
