ROCKHAMPTON OFFICES – MONDAY 10 MARCH 2008

Stewards today conducted an inquiry into the analysis findings of a urine sample taken from LASTING PEACE subsequent to it winning Race 3, the Class 3 Plate (1000m) at the Rockhampton Jockey Club race meeting on Saturday, 29 December 2007.

Trainer Mr J. Wigginton pleaded guilty to a charge under AR178 in that as the licensed trainer of LASTING PEACE he presented that gelding to race at the Rockhampton Jockey Club on the abovementioned day when a urine sample taken from that horse subsequent to it winning Race 3, the Class 3 Plate (1000m) upon analysis revealed a prohibited substance namely, TESTOSTERONE.

Mr Wigginton was fined $5000.

Acting under AR177 LASTING PEACE was disqualified from the event and the placings amended to read:

1ST – STRONG TEMPO
2ND – SUBSEQUENCE
3RD – KELANCE
4TH – CANNY SHUFFLE
