STEWARDS REPORT – Barron and Pengelly
DEAGON OFFICES – THURSDAY 14 MAY 2009
Stewards today inquired into the reason for D. Barron being dislodged from COGITATE BABY which resulted in IN HER SHOES (B. Pengelly) which was trailing falling near the 300m of race 3 at the Ipswich Turf Club meeting on 31 March 2009.
It was established in evidence from D. Barron, B. Pengelly and J. Murphy rider of MORESKA and the Stewards that the incident was caused by COGITATE BABY which was travelling well at that point improving quickly up onto the heels of MORESKA as that horse was yielding ground causing COGITATE BABY to be become unbalanced and blunder dislodging D. Barron.
Stewards deemed the incident accidental noting the circumstances and taking no further action.
