STEWARDS REPORT – J Holder
DEAGON OFFICES – THURSDAY 14 MAY 2009
Stewards today continued the inquiry into the reason for OSCAR THE GREAT (J. Holder) falling near the 300m of Race 7 at the Queensland Turf Club meeting on 14 January 2009.
After taking further evidence from J. Holder, A. Spinks (BENRAGAZZO), G. Colless (CHASKI) and J. Bowditch (SPIRITO VOLANTE) and acting on their own observations Stewards deemed that at a point near the 300m J. Holder attempted a tight run between SPIRITO VOLANTE and BENRAGAZZO which was under pressure and shifting out towards CHASKI. At this point A. Spinks has taken the appropriate measure to correct his mount from further shifting out, however BENRAGAZZO has over reacted to his actions and shifted in abruptly resulting in OSCAR THE GREAT being checked and falling.
Stewards noted the circumstances and took no further action in the matter.
