Notice to Rockhampton trainers
Jumpouts – Thursday, January 21, 2010
- The scheduled barrier trials for Thursday, January 21 will now be converted to jumpout status
- The Rockhampton Jockey Club in conjunction with Queensland Racing will be providing a free breakfast from 6:30am for trainers, track riders and owners
- There will be grass jumpouts on the course proper for horses who will nominate, accept and race for the Friday, January 29 race meeting.
- There will be sand jumpouts on sand track for horses who will not be racing on January 29
- Horses who jump out on the grass track and do not nominate or accept for January 29 will be charged $50 plus GST
- Horses who jumpout on the grass track and are balloted out of the January 29 meeting will not be charged the fee
- Grass jump outs will be as follows:
- 970m – two heats x six horses per heat
- 1200m – two heats x six horses per heat
- 1400m – two heats x six horses per heat
- There will be a final two more heats x six horses which will start at 2200m in main straight and run in an anti-clockwise direction for approximately 1000m. These horses will then pull up by the 1800m chute area.
- Should the number of horses wishing to use the grass exceed the above a ballot will be conducted
- Jumpout distances on the sand track will be 400m and 900m
- Nominations for all jumpouts are with the RJC office – 12:00noon Tuesday, January 19 with the fields released Wednesday, January 20.
