Queensland Racing Limited (QRL) Stewards today inquired into the results of the analyst’s findings of a urine sample taken from CLOUDS OF COGNAC subsequent to it competing in Race 7 at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club on Sunday, 22 March 2009.
The Queensland Government Racing Science Centre reported that analysis of the urine sample revealed the presence of the prohibited substance TESTOSTERONE.
Trainer M Adams pleaded guilty to a charge under AR178, in that as the trainer of CLOUDS OF COGNAC, he presented that gelding to race at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club on Sunday 22 March 2009, when analysis of a urine sample taken from that gelding, subsequent to racing, revealed the presence of the prohibited substance TESTOSTERONE.
Trainer M Adams was fined the sum of $3,000.
Acting under the provisions of AR177 CLOUDS OF COGNAC was disqualified from the race and the judge’s placings were amended as follows:
1st BRAEBROOK
2nd FIRE HAZARD
3rd COURT ADJOURNED
4th LACKADOSH
