Queensland Racing Limited (QRL) Stewards today concluded the inquiry which was adjourned from 14 May 2009 following Trainer R Maund pleading guilty to contravening Australian Rule of Racing 178, by presenting PELLTRO to race at Caloundra on 1 March 2009 when the horse was found to have the prohibited substance HYDROCORTISONE in its body.

The inquiry was adjourned from Thursday, 14 May 2009 to enable submissions provided by Mr Maund to be considered. After considering submissions and taking into account Mr Maund’s poor record in swab related matters, Stewards ordered that he be disqualified for a period of 12 months effective immediately.

In accordance with AR177, PELLTRO was disqualified from the Caloundra RSL Open Handicap and the judges placings were amended to:

1st – Braebrook
2nd – Nessuno
3rd – True Flyer
4th – Slick Trick
