Youthful Jack sped down the straight to another Listed win

Youthful Jack has added to his already impressive track record with another Black Type win in the Listed Australia Post Stakes Plate 1400m at the Tattersall’s raceday on Saturday, June 21.
The race was off to a slow beginning after A Boy Called Sue became cast in the barriers causing a delayed start.
Youthful Jack (G2 Youthful Legs USA-Formative) was anything but slow in the straight. The $2.05 race favourite stormed home after racing wide throughout to win by two and three quarters of a length.
A photo finish for second and third saw Arjuna (Michael Rodd) in front of Flying In (Glen Colless) by a head.
Jockey Tony Pattillo has had a great connection with the horse, including being aboard for his last three wins but the latest win was of greatest significance.
A week earlier Pattillo was involved in a race fall at Ipswich where he tore muscles in his neck and shoulder and badly bruised his hips.
“If it hadn’t of been for that horse I wouldn’t have been here,” he said.
“To go away from them the way he did, only good horses do it. (He) Overcomes adversity and can do anything you like, goes forwards, goes backwards.
“It’s a hell of a confidence booster to have a horse like that in your arsenal.”

Trainer Rex Lipp also thinks very highly of the gelding and was confident heading into the race.
“He’s a very promising horse. I think he’s better than normal. I think he’s a pretty super horse,” he said.
“He’s probably one of the most promising two-year-old’s we’ve had. I’d love to keep him but he’s probably heading for the Spring.”
“He just loves to stride. The more he can stride, the better he is.”
Starting off his campaign, Youthful Jack claimed four straight sprint wins for Taree trainer Ross Stitt. He then had a move north to place third at City Pacific Doomben in mid-April.
Training with Toowoomba trainer Rex Lipp the gelding had a lead up of fourth in the Listed Ken Russell Classic at the Gold Coast and second in the Listed Golden Stakes on BTC Cup day.
This latest achievement has made it three in a row after previously winning the Listed Doomben Slipper and a 2YO C&G Plate.
From his 10 starts Youthful Jack has picked up prizemoney every time, won two Listed races, won four races in a row, then three in row all in one year for owners Ross Stitt and Geoffrey Sheedy.
