Theseo brings it home
Theseo put in an impressive run to the claim the BMW Magic Millions Cup 1400m on Easter Monday.
Jumping from the outside barrier, jockey Nash Rawiller rode the gelding to success a length ahead of Upilio (Corey Brown). Five Ways (Danny Nikolic) followed in third by a half head.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse was pleased with the victory and Rawiller’s work. “We had barrier 13 and he just rode him across them and came back under him and that was the end of the race really.”
“He’s a fabulous jockey Nash, he knows what he is doing.
“He’s a lovely big horse bought for not a lot of money a few years ago and a great success for his owners. I’m tickled pink for them,” she said.
Rawiller thought the race was a credit to Theseo (G4 Danewin-Ozone Sand USA), “He didn’t stop at all,” he said.
Theseo was purchased at Magic Millions for $120,000 and has earnt connections over $500,000 in prizemoney from 16 starts. This includes a Group 3 win in the 2007 Premier’s Cup.
