Stewards today concluded an inquiry from the Ipswich Turf Club meeting on the 15 May 2009.

Stewards subsequently found jockey A. Spinks guilty of careless riding (AR137(a)), the specifics being that as the rider of DON’T PUSH ME in race 3 Fillies& Mares Maiden plate 1100m, he permitted his mount to shift in leaving the 900m when insufficiently clear of MISS AMORICA (J. Piper) which was forced to check to avoid the heels of that runner. A. Spinks licence to ride in races was suspended for 8 meetings, to commence midnight 30 May and to expire midnight 10 June 2009.
