Additional Two-Year-Old races added to South-East Queensland June programs
Following a review of the two-year-old schedule during June 2009, Queensland Racing Limited (QRL) has taken the decision to include an additional six (6) two-year-old races to the program.
QRL is conscious of delivering a programming schedule that provides maximum opportunity for stakeholders and the current process includes seeking feedback from key industry groups such as the Australian Trainers’ Association, the Queensland Racehorse Owners’ Association and relevant race clubs.
At present there appears to be an influx of two-year-olds and this has unfortunately been exacerbated by the loss of a number of meetings due to wet weather.
Listed below are the additional races added to the program:
Gold Coast – Saturday 6 June 2009
- 2yo Maiden Handicap 1200m - $12,000
Gold Coast – Wednesday 10 June 2009
- 2yo Handicap 1300m - $10,000 + $10,000 QTIS
Brisbane Turf Club – Wednesday 17 June 2009
- 2yo Handicap 1200m - $13,000
Sunshine Coast – Saturday 20 June 2009
- 2yo Maiden Handicap 1100m - $12,000
Gold Coast – Saturday 20 June 2009
- 2yo Handicap 900m - $12,000
Ipswich – Tuesday 30 June 2009
- 2yo Handicap 1100m - $10,000 + $10,000 QTIS
Although QRL undertakes extensive consultation prior to finalising programs, it appears that the number of two-year-old’s currently in work has exceeded everyone’s expectations. Regardless, QRL is committed to meeting the needs of the industry and has therefore taken the above decision. The entire June South East Corner TAB two-year-old schedule is listed below.
